Biographie

Ema Pires (b. Torres Novas, Portugal) is an assistant professor at the School of Social Sciences, University of Évora. She holds a PhD in Anthropology (University Institute of Lisbon, 2012), a degree in Anthropology (Technical University of Lisbon, 1998) and an MPhil in Sociology (University of Évora, 2002). Having done anthropological fieldwork in Portugal and West Malaysia, her research interests deal with social appropriations of built form, heritagisation processes and the politics of space.
